Or has winter even started? The Groundhog says it’s going to happen, so we better prepare now! On second thought he is right only about 40 percent of the time, so I guess there is the chance he could be wrong this year 🙂
It is no secret that this has been a strange winter indeed. Winter is about half way over and so far we have about 15 inches of snow. In a typical season in WC Ohio we average about 35 inches, so we’re really not to far off track in the snow category. We just haven’t been seeing the snow on the ground very long thanks to quick warm ups in the days after snowfall. Check out these graphics of snow on the ground this year compared to last year at this time.
This year, 19% of the country is snow covered
Last year at this time 52% was covered
Last year we didn’t get the majority of our snow until February and March, could this year be similar? We’ll have to wait and see, but time is ticking away!
