I’ve mentioned before, the television industry is a business where you have people coming and going on a regular basis. I’m happy (and sad at the same time) to wish Wes Houx our weekend meteorologist all the best as he is taking the next step in his career to a TV station in Waco, Texas.
Wes is from this area (Hardin County) and I’m sure he will always call West Central Ohio home. It’s been a pleasure having him on our weather team for the last year and half! But as is all too often the case at a small market TV station you see many people come and go, but you also have a great opportunity to make new friends and hopefully have a place to crash if you’re doing some traveling around the country 🙂
If you didn’t know, Wes started off as an intern here at WLIO while he was in college at Western Illinois. When the weekend met job came open about a year and a half ago Wes was offered the job while he still had a few months left of college. For several months Wes made a nearly 7 HOUR trip every weekend back home to Lima from college just to get his start in the business while he was finishing up school. That’s dedication! Be sure to watch this Saturday (tomorrow) for Wes’s final broadcast!
Goodluck to you, Wes! You will be missed.
