After a relatively quiet December, I don’t think there is any doubt now that winter has arrived here in West Central Ohio. Wind chills have been below zero much of the day Wednesday and will drop even more tonight with ACTUAL air temperatures expected to settle around 6 or 7 below zero and winds out of the west from 10 to 20 miles per hour! By 6 or 7 AM Thursday morning wind chills in the region could easily be around 30 below zero.
Because of these dangerously low values, a Wind Chill Warning is in effect for all of West Central Ohio through noon on Thursday. A Wind Chill Warning means that wind chill values at or below 25 below zero are expected during that time.
On top of the cold temperatures and wind chills some light snow will move back in late Thursday evening here in West Central Ohio. By early Friday morning snow accumulations of 1 maybe 2 inches will be seen in addition to what we saw the other night. Here is a look around 7 PM when snow will probably begin to move in with another clipper moving through the Great Lakes.
And a look at projected snowfall by 5 AM Friday morning.
